There was something Tanya loved about parties at her school. No one took them too seriously, but they always managed to have stellar turnouts and to draw all of the best people. This was no exception. It was someone's birthday, but Tanya didn't know whose. She'd been invited by a friend, who had been invited by a friend of hers, and so on and so forth. Sometimes it was considered bad manners to attend a party full of people you didn't know, but this wasn't that kind of party. Word had spread to most of the students, and the building was packed.

There were tables loaded with food, a keg, mixed drinks being made in one of the corners, and a cooler of other drinks. Whoever had planned this had gone all out. It was probably one of the frats since they had funding and inclination, but Tanya didn't really care who had done it, just that it had been done, and it was great.

People were dancing in the middle of the floor to every song that the DJ played, and she could see a line of people going to make requests. Somewhere in the chaos was the birthday boy. Or girl. And Tanya could only hope that the guest of honor was having as good a time as she was.

At the moment, she was dancing with her friend Paul, hands up in the air, and her body moving to the beat. She was laughing and playfully grinding against him every once in a while. The dance floor was packed as well, and she kept rubbing up against people that she didn't know. It didn't bother her, though, and she didn't even do more than laugh when some random person touched her ass and then kept moving. That was the kind of environment the party inspired. Plus, she had had more than a couple of drinks already.

It was easy to see that there were people hooking up all through the room, and there was even one couple in the corner who apparently couldn't wait until they found a more private place. Not that anyone cared much. There was too much to eat and drink, and too many good songs being played for them to worry about that.

Tanya was taking a break from dancing, leaning against the wall in the back and catching her breath when she saw her. She knew Amy from her calculus class, but they had never spoken.
